Carolyn and I Welcome you to our site and Thank You for visiting with us. We are an all handmade mom and pop shop. Because we sell our work at numerous arts and crafts shows, local outlets, and online, we elected to not have a brick and mortar store. We would rather spend more time creating art.
Our products are made and assembled in our studio/shop in Van Vleck, Texas. We also have our own fine art giclee’ printer and run the prints to match the original paintings I paint. Carolyn creates wonderful jewelry art using vintage pieces. Both of us built this website and preform the maintenance on it.
My Bio: Jimmie Bartlett
I love art, the processes, and the creation. As a child growing up I had a natural tendency to draw and build things. I spent most of my working life in the technical field, but the yearning to fulfill my desire to draw and paint was strong, and I found my real passion was to paint. With the gracious support of my wife Carolyn, painting full time became a reality. Painting is a gift from God, and the ultimate release of creativity. Everyone should try painting at least once in their life.
I paint with oils and acrylics on canvas and wood. I enjoy all of it: from taking photographs one day and on to painting landscapes or portraits the next. As a native Texan, my work is Texas influenced and has been sold at shows, shops, and over the internet. Carolyn and I started our arts/crafts business, ‘The Bartlett Pair,’ in 1993 and we are still at it.
Aside from art, I am a Christian blessed with a wonderful family and a good life. Other interests are fishing, reading, wood working, and fixing things. I served in the US Navy for 8 years, worked in power plants for 20 years, and as a self employed artist for 26 years.
I want to make every painting special and better than the last. My goal is to paint as well as I can, as much as I can, every day.
