Description

‘Chapel In The Woods’ is an original acrylic painting on canvas by Jimmie Bartlett. The painting is on a stretched 11 by 14 by .75 inches canvas.  I used both realistic and impressionistic techniques during the work to blend the sky, trees, and flowers to surround the Chapel during the springtime when bluebonnets and wild fruit trees are in bloom.  The Chapel has a natural stone construction randomly placed.  No reference used.

The painting was created from my imagination and designing it on the canvas while painting.   I always feel closer to God in the outdoors enjoying the world he created for us. I was thinking about a small Chapel in the woods surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers where people could go to pray.
