This offering is for prints on luster paper of the original painting El Presidio Fort by Jimmie Bartlett.

A bit of where the print came from:  We took a short vacation to visit the missions in Goliad, Texas to take reference photos for painting.  I painted three paintings and thoroughly enjoyed the work having spent time studying the missions on location.

A bit of history: The El Presidio mission/fort is located in Goliad, Texas and is a historical site. During the Texas war for independence from Mexico, General Santa Anna invaded Texas to put down the rebellion and captured Colonel Fannin and his regiment near the El Presidio. The prisioners were marched to the fort and held for a short period after which they were all shot. Colonel Fanin was forced to watch the executions and was the last to die. Enactments of the event are held yearly in memorial.
